As a member of PLUS you have access to the following network shares:
Your computer should be connected to the ETH network to be able to access these network shares. Otherwise, you should use the ETH VPN (Explained below in the VPN section).
Instructions:
Open an explorer window.
Right click on ’Network' → Map network drive
Enter one of the following:
Click on ‘Connect using different credentials’. Use your username with the D: D\your_username
Open Finder
Go → Connect to server
Enter one of the following:
Enter your credentials.
It could happen that you receive a link to some folder via mail, but the link doesn’t seem to work. This is probably because the person who sent you the link is using a different system than yours, so you should check for slashes/backslashes and open the share accordingly.
ETH keeps a backup of all information in this servers, so we recommend to store important data into these network shares.
For more information please check: https://www.ethz.ch/services/en/it-services/catalogue/storage/nas.html
You should be able to connect to ‘eduroam’ and ‘eduroam-5’ using the following credentials:
User: your_username@staff-net.ethz.ch
Remember: The password to be used is your network password!
In case you haven’t set your second password yet, please follow the instructions
Wi-Fi settings → Select network (eduroam) → Settings → Security
Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
Authentication: Tunneled TLS
No CA certificate is required: checked
To be able to access to most of ETH resources you must be in the ETH network (vie cable or Wi-Fi).
In case you are not physically in ETH (working from home, travelling, etc) you have the possibility to connect to the ETH network via the ETH VPN Gateway.
In order to do so it is recommended that you use the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client. This software package is available in the IT Shop and in https://sslvpn.ethz.ch
Instructions:
The program is very simple. It will just ask for a server to connect to, your ETH username and your password.
The server URL is : sslvpn.ethz.ch/staff-net
The user should be: your_username@staff-net.ethz.ch
Remember: The password to be used is your network password!
In case you haven’t set your second password yet, please follow the instructions
In case you would like to connect remotely to your office computer (ssh, Remote Desktop, etc) you should connect through the VPN, but not to the general VPN but specifically to the PLUS VPZ 'baug-irl'.
This is done by connecting to the baug-irl VPZ
The server URL is : sslvpn.ethz.ch/baug-irl
The user should be: your_username@baug-irl.ethz.ch
Once you are connected this way, you should be able to connect to your office computer using Remote Desktop. When prompted for the username, use the D\ as in D\<your_username>

In Windows it is only needed to add the network printer with the following URL: \\pia01.d.ethz.ch\card-ethz
In MAC, please check the document anleitung-pia-drucker-mac.pdf
Once a job is sent to the printer you should go in person to the printer, present you ETH card and it will be printed out. You can do this in every ETH printer.
In the H floor the printer is located in the room H 40.2
Refer to the backup page
The exact procedure is described on the following Confluence page: https://unlimited.ethz.ch/x/WwZaBg
